Start Sunday at Mocca Mecca coffee Townsville Riverside, then onto Hervey Range lookout, and just at crest of range, the tea house. Great coffee and food at both ends, great views top of range looking north east to Beaches and east and south to Townsville. Hervey Range Tearooms is a regular biker hangout on Saturday and Sunday and always a few degrees less C than the coast and much less humidity. From here you could take a side trip to tabletop just over road or another 80kms west to intersection of Gregory Development road. Hervey Range varies from great straights, recently resurfaced all the way, a few twisters going up the actual range, and if you venture on to Gregory Development road, on the way there are some great licence losing fast corners. It´s scenery varies from urban coastal to plains, range sub tropical through to parched outback so is an interesting ride and can be very safe but watch out for b-double gravel trucks and occasional army vehicle travelling at sensible speeds...
Oh and some beasts wallabies Roos dingos and occasional deer....
