I was 50/50 on this road, years ago, when the pavement was so-so. I came back to it last year (2020) and was pleased to see that it's pretty damned smooth these days. Sweepers is the name of the game, here. Huge sight lines ones and tighter ones, too, but you can really carry some speed on this road, if that's your thing. If not, it's still a superb cruiser road. (Pretty nice scenery, too.)

As of early 2021 there's construction just South of Bergholz, on a bridge there, so you may get routed around. If I was you I would start at Amsterdam (Intersection with 43) and head South from there, or North up until there. Really, North of Bergholz is easily the least interesting section of this road.
