Route goes through amazing mountain scenery. The road surface is surprisingly good for the most part but beware the usual Mexican road hazards - potholes and topes(speed bumps) in the villages as they are awful. Continuous corner after corner but bad visibility for the most part as the road is two lane only with vegetation right to the edge. No safety barriers anywhere and road signs are not to be taken much notice of as per usual. This road is hard and technical for pretty much the entire length. Be careful of opposing traffic and DO NOT go over the centre line at any time on corners as there is likely to be a huge truck or bus lumbering toward you taking up the entire width. But the scenery is fantastic though it is hard to find a viewpoint or safe place to stop to look. Takes about 3 hours to ride this road at least, longer if you get held up with traffic.
