Some traffic, most of the time.

One of the most overrated roads in Portugal. Dont get me wrong, its a nice road with some great scenery, particularly when its void of traffic. But the good corners are few for the distance and in the weekends its a vanity fair for weekend Summer-only riders. Better roads elsewhere, even near Lisbon.

Sunny weekends tend to be very busy, best enjoyed very early in the morning when the traffic is at its lowest.

A great road, after Cabo de Roca, as you approach Sintra the road becomes busier and a bit boring, but toward Cascais along the coast it is truly awesome.

The section that goes right along by the sea - just a word of caution, although youll no doubt see it well in advance on windy days quite a lot of sand gets blown all across the road, just watch out but this is only on the section right by the beach.

It´s a very beautiful place, by the sea and in the mountain, the tarmac is very good and except for weekends there´s very little traffic, allowing you to ride fast throught it´s fast corners where you can surely use your sliders! One of the best roads to ride a bike in Portugal and one of the most beatiful areas for sure!

A good road, with some amazing scenery and a wonderful ending setting, but, unfortunately not very long. This is also a very busy road on weekends and you should be alert for: - Weekend canned drivers: Out for a drive with the family and generaly very distracted. - Weekend/Wannabe bikers: You'll spot them right away with no licence plates, mirrors, kamikaze driving on straights, slow on corners, dangerous and they are in regular accidents. - People by the road: Taking pictures, walking. - Some heavy police presence at times. As was said before, it's best to avoid the sunday morning crowds and try it in the middle of the week. Also be careful with the sands by the Guincho beaches, there are some dunes by the road and the wind regularly brings lots of sand to the road.

The view is just amazing, the air, the smell, the tarmac and corners, are out of this world. 5 star road and area! Sunday mornings you can see loads of local bikers speeding up the corners!

Turn right outside Hotel Baia and head towards Guincho keeping to the Coastal road. Great road with Ocean on your left heading towards Guincho beach. Surface is good, with fast sweeping corners. Once you have passed the beach you enter a woody section which begins your ascent to village called Malveria da Serra surface is good but corners are tighter. As you enter village turn left and follow signs to Cabo da Roca. This section continues rising and as you leave the village the views are fantastic and the road has some great turns where you can put you sliders to good use if you dare! The local bikers all come out along this section to Cabo da Roca every Sunday morning and on sunny days in the summer kids line the road to watch all the bikes. After a few miles watch for left turn on a corner, caution! Proceed into Azoia village (avoid restaurants here as are tourist traps) then follow signs to Cabo da Roca which is the most Westernly point of mainland Europe for a coffee at the bar/restaurant. During the summer can be very busy at weekends so midweek morning best time to go as it is cooler too.
